Discover the Château d'Oléron
The cabins of the creators
When you arrive on the island of Oléron, come and discover the Château d’Oléron. An authentic village steeped in history, particularly known for its citadel. Embark on the little train from the Château d'Oléron for a 5-kilometre ride with commentary. A nice way to discover one of the most beautiful tourist sites on the island of Oléron. Do not miss the cabins of the creators: old small completely renovated fishermen's cabins where several local craftsmen have settled. Between know-how and authenticity, enjoy exchanging with these craftsmen who make the artisanal richness of our territory.
Chassiron lighthouse
To the north of the island of Oléron, twelve kilometers from the Verébleu campsite, our holidaymakers can discover the Chassiron lighthouse. With its 48 meters in height, it is the highest point on the island of Oléron. Built in 1685, it is the second oldest lighthouse in France still in operation! From its summit, you can admire a unique panorama over Oléron, but also over the Ile de Ré, the mainland and the Atlantic. To access the lantern, you will have to climb a total of 224 steps!

In season, take advantage of an inter-island cruise departing from Boyardville to explore the island of Aix. A world apart, separated from the continent by 6 kilometers of sea. On the island of Oléron
Beyond the great Oleron sites, there are also many activities available to you on the island of Oléron. As a family, you will have the opportunity to take part in various activities. The adventure begins 300 meters from our campsite where you can take one of the 160 kilometers of cycle paths that run through the island. Then, take advantage of the Prés Valet leisure park: skate park, bicross track, fitness trail and a body of water are ideal places of entertainment for the whole family. The towns of Saint Georges and Cheray will be perfect for doing some shopping. As for nature, enjoy the national forest of Saumonards as well as the various beaches on the east coast (Foulerot, Plaisance, La Gautrelle). Those wishing to indulge in a few sensations can enjoy Les Huttes: a surf and windsurf beach located about ten kilometers from Verébleu!
Discover the Charente Maritime
Take advantage of your stay at the Verébleu campsite to discover the treasures of Charente Maritime. The city of La Rochelle, with its famous towers protecting the entrance to its port, harbors an extraordinary heritage and history. On site, you can also visit the La Rochelle Aquarium with your children! In Rochefort, climb the Hermione bridge, the replica of the famous frigate that allowed the Marquis de La Fayette to cross the Atlantic during the American War of Independence... Among the other tourist sites in Charente Maritime, don't miss La Palmyre Zoo, the Brouage citadel, the port of Saint Martin de Ré, etc.
